We've Registered Our Camper For Summer Camp...What Happens Now?

First of all, thanks for making Camp Couchiching part of your family's summer experience! We feel like we have a year-round relationship even though we only see many of you in the summer.

From December until May we are busy with camper applications, hiring staff, planning great programming and ensuring all our compliance with safety standards. However we are happy to answer questions via email or phone. Really, everything we do is geared at your campers' experiences!

A great way to engage your campers during these "waiting" months is to follow what we put on Facebook and Instagram. This will help new campers feel more connected to the facility and staff and allow returning campers to reflect on good times.

For Summer Overnight Camps:

From the time you register until mid-June, we work with families to finalize payments, gather all the details we need and answer specific questions.

For International Families, we will work with you via email, info@campcouchiching.com to help guide the best dates and times for your camper's arrival and departure flights. We typically request that campers fly in from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first day of camp and book a flight out for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on their final day of camp. We pick up at Lester B Pearson (Toronto, City Code YYZ) airport.

We work on preparing an Information Package that we send in hard copy to each family in mid-June. Along with the Family Information Package, we circulate that same Package in digital copy so you have a copy at your finger tips. This package has lots of details about when to arrive, communicating at camp, what to bring (what not to bring) and program details. Here is a link to a previous year's package so you can get an understanding of what to expect:  https://public.huddle.com/a/WWLDoPX/index.html. We also post all our Information Packages on our Facebook and Instagram accounts too!

In addition to this June mailing, we send an email to your family a week before camp reminding you of your arrival day, method of travel to camp and time. While your camper is at camp, we send along another email that reminds you of your camper's departure day, method of travel to camp and time.

When camp is over, we'll send along a link to our feedback survey which we use to help us provide "Excellence in Camping" each year.

Finally, your on-line application is available to you all year so log in when you need receipts for your bookkeeping or tax time!

For Summer Day Camps:

After you've applied and in mid-June, we email around a Day Camp Family Information Package to each family. Here is an example of the Day Camp Family Information Package from a previous year:  https://public.huddle.com/a/NJBqxpD/index.html.

We also send reminder emails 3-days prior to the first day of camp so everything remains fresh in your mind.

When camp is over, we'll send along a link to our feedback survey which we use to help us provide "Excellence in Camping" each year.

Feel free to log into your on-line application at any time during the year to recall what weeks you signed up for, what payments are outstanding or to obtain receipts for tax time.
